Miracle Miles, our pretend/preparatory event has come and gone. I did 10 miles! And I did it in just under three and a half hours! I swear if I hadn't made so many bathroom breaks I could have knocked 15 minutes off my time. But they are a necessity when you're drinking that much water. Having the right shoes, and the right insoles totally helps! I don't have it perfected quite yet though. The ball of my right foot started hurting at around mile 7. I have to say having the right music playing definitely makes a difference! I had started to lag at about mile 6 until about mile 9. I was basically just slogging through it. Then Ozomatli came on and I saw landmarks of how close I was to the finish and BOOM! I impressed everyone with how strongly I crossed the finish line.
First, I want to thank those of you who have donated already. You have gotten me a third of the way to my goal! My goal to raise $2500 by May 21st, is attainable with your support. I've raised about $800 so far. I've been making and selling the fingerless gloves. I've gotten permission from my regional director to dye my hair purple for the race IF I meet my deadline.
Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about my progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation. I would HUGELY appreciate it if you would forward this email to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well. Thanks again.
Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 823,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.
On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
